The LNWR Webb Coal Tank is a class of 0-6-2T steam locomotive, introduced in 1881 by F.W. Webb. These locomotives earned the nickname "Coal Tanks" as they were a side tank version of Webb's standard '17-inch' Coal Engine. This name derives from their cylinder diameter. The design featured cast-iron wheels and H-section spokes, making it a cost-effective choice. A trailing radial truck supporting the bunker was also added, featuring two similarly cast-iron wheels. Over time, 300 of these locomotives were built, with production spanning from 1881 to 1897.
In the 1923 grouping, 292 of these locomotives transitioned to the London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS). They underwent renumbering, switching from the LNWR's random allocation system to a solid block sequence, specifically numbered 7550–7841. The power classification assigned to them was 1F. Fast forward to 1948, and 64 of these locomotives became part of British Railways, carrying numbers 58880–58937. However, not all of them survived long enough to bear their BR numbers.

Returns
Sometimes things don't work out, and that's fine! We are happy to issue refunds for new, unopened items that have been sold and fulfilled here at House of Hobbies, within 30 days of delivery. Return costs for non faulty items are at the buyers expense. We will not issue refunds for multiple purchases of the same product at all so this should be taken into consideration when purchasing quantities of an item, whether for collecting or resale. Refunds on returned Pre Ordered items will only be issued as store credit.
Your refund will be sent to you after we have received the product back, and you should receive a full refund within four weeks at the latest (but in most cases, it will be far quicker - this time period just covers transit time for us receive the product back, send it to our distributor, and get a new one back if necessary, then have your refund processed by the bank). We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
If you need to send something back then please package it accordingly and post it to House of Hobbies, Unit F, Platts Lane Industrial Estate, Burscough, West Lancashire, L40 7TP and please include a little note explaining why it's coming back to us and your order number.
